COVID-19 Vaccines

COVID-19 Vaccines and Boosters

VA is providing COVID-19 vaccines, as authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Supply varies by facility. Get more information about COVID-19 vaccines at VA.

VA now offers COVID-19 booster shots to eligible Veterans, spouses and caregivers based on CDC recommendations. Supply varies by facility. Learn more about COVID-19 booster shots in VA.

If eligible, you can also receive a booster outside of VA. You can locate a vaccine site at https://www.vaccines.gov/search/. Make sure to take your CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card when you go!

We continue to encourage all eligible individuals to get vaccinated.

COVID-19 Vaccines

The El Paso VA is now vaccinating all Veterans, their caregivers, spouses, and CHAMPVA beneficiaries under the SAVE LIVES Act.  The expanded authority under the SAVE LIVES Act depends on readily available COVID-19 vaccine supply and requires VA to continue to prioritize for Veterans enrolled in VA care.

All Veterans, their spouses, or caregivers are encouraged to take this opportunity to help our communities get back on track and return to all the things we have missed because of the pandemic.

Those covered by the SAVE LIVES Act need to go to www.va.gov/health-care/covid-19-vaccine/  to sign-up and 24 hours after registration on-line, they may contact (915) 564-6100, select option 2, to request an appointment. All vaccinations are provided free of charge.

  • Veterans with contraindications to the COVID vaccine include:
    • History of severe or immediate allergic reaction (anaphylactic reaction) to a previous dose of COVID vaccine or any of its ingredients.
    • Active COVID-19 infection, in active quarantine, or experiencing COVID symptoms.
    • Those who have received monoclonal antibody therapy for COVID-19 should wait 90 days to receive vaccine.
